Documents:1) Conveyance of the perpetual Curacy of Poole and allotment in lieu of tithes and declaration of Trust. John Elwes to Revd E Auriol, 30/3/1854. 2) Appointment of New Trustees to Advowson of St James Poole, 20/5/1950. Between John Inskip and the National Church League and others. This Schedule above referred to: 30/3/1854 Indenture so dated made between John Elwes of the first part and Revd Edward Auriol and 6 others being a Conveyance of the Impropriate Rectory and Parish Church of St James in the town and county of Poole together with the Tithing and Longfleet and Hamlet of Parkstone both in the Parish of Great Crawford and commonly called the Out Parish of Poole and also the Perpetual patronage and Right of Nomination of the Minister or Perpetual Curate of the same church together with the Parsonage House Tithes Tenths and other hereditaments and premises therein specified and a Declaration of Trust of a sum of one thousand one hundred and seventy five pounds fourteen shillings and eight pence three pounds per cent Consolidated Bank Annuities as a Fund for the Repair of the Chancel of the said Church and Augmentation of the Stipend of the Minister thereof (Enrolled in Chancery the 24th May 1854).
Parsonage:Data on church and rectory goes back to 1547 (see files). In 1982 the rectory was sold by the Diocese and a new rectory was built, which is the 4th rectory in the parish's history. (Source of information: Revd Bob Mason, Rector of St James', Poole, 2008
