Documents:1) Copy of Agreement for vesting the patronage in Trustees. New Church (St John the Evangelist Newborough and Leigh) Wimborne, Dorset, 8/5/1875 (Principal Deed). The said Bishop of Salisbury [and others] do hereby agree the one with the other their heirs and assigns That the Patronage or right of nomination to New Church of Saint John the Evangelist New Borough and Leigh shall belong to A. Ashley [and others] their assigns for ever And that when and so often as any new Trustee shall be appointed the Right of patronage and other the premises shall be conveyed in the Trustee or Trustees and such new or other Trustee jointly. 2) Appointment of New Trustees National Church League appointed as Custodian Trustee, 1/6/1927 The Appointers as Trustees convey unto the League all and singular the advowson and right of Patronage specified in the Second Schedule hereto To hold the same unto the League their successors and assigns as Custodian Trustee of Trustees Second Schedule: All that the Advowson and perpetual right of Patronage of and nomination to the Church of St John the Evangelist Wimborne. 3) Deed of appointment of new trustee, St John the Evangelist Wimborne, Rt Revd James Inskip and another and the National Church League (new trustee), 7/9/1946. This Deed is supplemental to (i) The Patronage Agreement ( the Principal Deed ) dated 8/5/1875. The remaining Trustees hereby appoint the New Trustee to be a trustee of the Principal Deed in place of 3 others and to act jointly with the remaining trustees.
Parsonage:Various documents sent by R Tulloch including extract from the history of St John's Wimborne written in 1951 which summarises how members of the congregation made the money available for the purchasing of the current vicarage. It has been the vicarage since 1945 - the church wardens managed to fight off an attempt to sell it when Barry Lomax left in 1994. Other documents sent: Copy of mortgage for securing the payment of 4000 for the purpose of purchasing a parsonage house "Oakfield," 1st February 1946.
